Position Description

Location: Charleston, SC

Description: Registered Nurse – CVPICUSchedule & Shift Details

Day Shift: 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)
Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
Alternating Shifts: 4x12s days & 4x12s nights (may alternate within the same week, but no double-backing)
Guaranteed Hours: May be canceled one shift per two weeks
Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend, 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
Holiday Rotation: Required

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 2 years pediatric cardiac ICU experience required
Certifications:

Required: PALS, BLS (MUSC only accepts American Heart Association (AHA) certifications)
Preferred: ACLS (AHA)

License: South Carolina RN or Multi-State/Compact RN license
Preferred Experience: Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD)
Floating: Required – May float to NICU, PICU, Pediatric Stepdown

Skills & Competencies

Medications: Antiarrhythmics, Continuous Sedation, IV Vasopressors
Respiratory Care: Ventilated Patient Care, Chest Tubes, Tracheostomy Care
IV Therapy: Central Line Care, Blood Draws
Cardiovascular Expertise: Hemodynamic Monitoring, Post-Cardiac Surgery Care, Congenital Heart Disease
Renal Support: Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) (preferred)
Special Equipment: ECMO, CRRT, Berlin Hearts, HeartMate3, Impella, VAD
Work Setting: Pediatric CVICU

Interdisciplinary Support: Respiratory Therapy, Pediatric Dietitians, Pharmacists, Radiology, Social Services

Local Radius Rule: 60 miles (Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis at 10% less than posted bill rate)
Travel Pairs Not Accepted
Pre-Approved Time Off: Maximum 2 requests
